History
JJ Ryan Undertakers has been operating continuously in Nenagh since 1871.

Following the death of the late John Joe Ryan in 1989 the Family Business continued under the guidance of Teresa, a qualified nurse with 40 years experience in the undertaking business.
In recent years her son Philip, one of eight in her large family, has undertaken the family tradition and continued seamlessly providing an excellent service to the people of Nenagh and its surrounding areas.
Excerpt from the Nenagh Guardian - October 16th 1971:
UNDERTAKING BUSINESS CELEBRATES CENTENARY
"Back in 1871, a young lad from Templederry with a keen love of horses came into Nenagh and started up a business which has been thriving ever since and now celebrates 100 years in existence. He was but 18 years old and his name was John Ryan from Oatfield House, Oatfield Templederry. It was a small beginning but the intervening years have seen it blossom into one of the most up-to-date and efficient undertaking services in the country."
